beauty is never far from the sighted. It is an opinionated virtue at best and can be made or broke at a person's will. Vision is so unique from one individual to the next that there just isn't an acceptable control for what is truly awesome to the eye or merely a passing flicker of nothing.
Too many people are obsessed with what's on the outside and pay so little attention to what matters. They primp and preen and even try to decide for others what they feel are allowable visual aesthetics. Fashion houses cropped up in populated places at the dawn of civilization because there was a hub and need for the idle to find something to focus on. No work and no play and "airs" made the rich and famous all too hungry for a new outlet. Fashion. "Clothes horses," my grandmother would say. But even she dictated to me what was acceptable dress and what wasn't depending upon the ritual or holiday. Church clothes, dinner clothes, school clothes, Christmas clothes, Easter dresses, wedding attire, funeral wear...it gets old! I am a home nudist because of the mentality of this. For a time my child was as well but it became increasingly difficult to teach her everything without teaching her a little bit of shame. I raised her in a guilt free environment and she had become "too full of head" and needed the shunning that comes from a strict background like I had. She still is comfortable around me undressed and with me undressed as it is natural for us but also understands that others have a "need" of their clothing to cover the shame their hearts feel. I don't care what that shame is or why it exists. I don't want to make this about just them. Lobo appreciates the bare moments in life just as I do and we have no recourse to want to cover other than our respect for the weakest of mind that cannot understand our natural ways. I will say this in encouragement...there was a time when we received no end of solicitors at our door handing out pamphlets and offering to mow the lawn and sell me cookies. I opened the door one day in the nude to two old ladies coming bearing gifts of the future, The Watchtower, and to their surprise stood this crass mother of a heathen who made no qualms with her appearance and bade them to come on back. Word must have gotten out from the "bitty brigade" as I have not received any solicitors since and it's been almost ten years!
I don't like to wear clothes and never have. They bunch up around my neck when I sleep and cut off circulation to other areas or statically stick to the sheets and make it difficult to toss and turn in my usual dance of the night. I don't even care for them now in public but have made certain sacrifices for the "eyes" of the general public, not that it prevents them from staring. I feel like Helena Bonham Carter when I walk anywhere for the stares I receive. People aren't accustomed to "large" and proud women. They are even less accustomed to the bra-less or "drawer"-less versions too who throw on a nightgown and shorts to go to the grocery store or a maxi-dress with bra and sandals. If ever I was to come into a large enough sum of money, you can bet your ass I would build my own sustaining commune for myself and my kin, should they want to stay with me. I would have little to no use for electricity outside of internet access and would have gas for cooking. My home would be built to suit eco-friendly advocates in that it would utilize solar, wind and hydro powers. I would have my own garden and even keep some minimal livestock enough to breed and feed the generations without amassing too much. Everything would be used and nothing took for granted. I would sew clothes for when we're cold, need to venture into town or decide it's a good day to see some idiots. Books would line the walls and knick-knacks from my life's past would serve as reminders of where we come from and where we are headed. There would always be something to keep us busy whether it would be a garden or the animals and livestock or usual ministrations of just day to day life. My daughter and I talk about and fantasize about this and the lack of "beauty" seen in it in the greater part of the world. It's a shame things have gotten to the point they have as I am sure of you find my own "heaven" a nirvana of your own.~mobe's love to her all and her all to her loves.
Mobe's days
The day's disdain shall never refrain from the pain that the rain will wash away. But tomorrows sorrow shall give cause to claim that today's was just yesterday's gain
This is a free thought process to which I intend to entertain and insiniuate debate and humor into what I consider a banal universe. I implore you to leave comment or critique and also to question my purposes if you so desire. It is my intent to invoke creative thought and even a new perspective, though I do not expect all to want the invasion of their minds for the duration of my soapbox. I will censor nothing, but cannot promise that it won't be at a higher desk. Enjoy!~mobe
